If Asia is a region of transformation and inspiration and if the future of the region will be shaped by connectivity, then connectivity shall be used not only to benefit ourselves but also those without access to it. We ought to remember that not only the shakers and movers that make it to the World Economic Forum but that all of us are thinkers and doers able to influence the direction of our region, able to contribute to an opportunity to not only increase prosperity but to do so in sustainable ways and by including those who have usually been left out in the process of globalization.

This picture was taken during our Santa Invasion whereby we sent dozens of volunteer groups clad in Christmas themed clothing into over 20 slum communities in Bangkok on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. The entry points of slums often lead into areas of Bangkok invisible to the public eye.

One of the greatest thing in our search for flood related projects is to meet the people who are behind the projects that will make a difference in people’s lives, after meeting Superman Khun Preeda we met with Khun Ann from Friends International an organization that runs a number of projects in Thailand and that has initiated an income generating project in the Saphan Siri slum community next to Klong Rangsit in Pathumthani. Many of us want to do something good, making a difference in one way or another, through donations or volunteering but we can contribute to something good every single day through something most of us already do every single day - use social media!! Share content and information that can help others on the ground to have an impact. Are you already doing it? How? Share your ways of using social media for something good. We initiated Thai Changemakers on Facebook to share content around creating impact and those unsung heroes who are out in the field to work for the betterment of society. You have ideas to amplify their efforts? Please, share them with us !!! http://on.fb.me/xVFc5l

The following case shows the uphill battle that people fight in their attempt to defend Thailand’s wildlife and natural resources. Khun Edwin exposed the bloody and illegal business of a shady network of mafia, poachers and “influential” people who are trying to silence him. Many activists had been killed because the price was easy, their story was unheard of, don’t let this story go unheard of, spread the word and help the Wildlife Friend Foundation Thailand and don’t let corruption and greed get easily away with their destructive business

  • In life, there are moments of pride, such as when you pass an exam or a job interview and there are moments of frustration and resignation when a problem is too big for us alone. But then there are moments when we feel being in our primes for connecting to a group of every-day people that tackle and help solve that very problem, that welcomes everybody to be part of the solution, creating something awesome out of something bad, creating countless friendships where none had been, growing beyond what they’ve imagine and tossing our feelings of powerlessness into the annals of our comfort zones. This video is dedicated to the people who were part of this journey and invites everyone out there to join the fun. Thanks guys I love you all!! :)
